A couple of days ago I came across this crazy comment on an article about health care and the uninsured. I wasn’t going to post it, but I keep thinking about it so here it is.

Whites have recessive traits, so mixed-race children almost always look black (eye color, hair texture, nose shape, lips, skin color, etc.). Obama wrote: “I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mother’s white race.'”

On another note, I’m eagerly awaiting the report on the President’s beer date with Gates and Crowley. I find it so fitting that this black and white man is getting together with this black man and that white man to bring us all to some common ground on this issue. This is a perfect example of how Obama’s “unique experience” is helping him (and us) address the larger struggle. I’m just sayin’.

I’m glad you decided to post this. Can’t wait to see the “beer date” post. In that last sentence; you are so right and that was one of the first thoughts that I had when I heard about it 🙂
Tiff, I come across this type of of racially charged and ignorant comments all the time. As you probably know, I confront this ignorance daily on YT . Unfortunately, there appears to be no end to it, but I fight them one racist at a time.
Short of implying that Obama acts biracial, he does intentionally project many of the positive ideals associated with being biracial. From the very beginning he has cultivated the symbology of unity, diplomacy, paternal wisdom and humility. By paternal wisdom, I mean he equally scolds and chastises everyone and not just black and white people. It is too bad that he has to do the heavy lifting of 10 presidents, and can’t devote more time to race relations.
Speaking of symbology, your banner photo of your eyes definitely adds credence to the saying that a picture is worth a thousand words.
I’m mixed and i don’t have the hair, nose and lips and i don’t hate whites. In fact, i hate blacks. My skin might be slightly darker and my eyes might be dark brown, but hispanics, indians and italians have similiar eyes and skin. So i’m the 1% identiying as white. With light colored contacts i might as well pass as white in summer if i stay out of the sun.
